Originating from the Braintree district in Essex, Exoterica are one of the most diverse Metal bands on the music scene today.
In August 2007, the band was reformulated and reborn. Refusing to stick to one genre, Exoterica have created a sound that fuses metal & thrash with more melodic and progressive styles. This has given them a real advantage in a scene that is flooded by masses of near-identical Hardcore & Screamo bands.
This fusion of styles allows the band to create variety within their repertoire, allowing each song to sound fresh and original. Exoterica are rapidly building a solid reputation for extremely tight and energetic performances, and are regarded as a band whose live act is not to be missed.
The band has shared the stage with the likes of Diamond Head, Forever Never, From Almost The End, Santorum, Fei Comodo, Civillian, Carved From Violence, The Morning After and Koopa to name but a few.
Exoterica were Grand Finalists at this year's Metal Battle of the Bands at The Twist in Colchester. The Grand Final consisted of just 4 bands out of the starting 32, which featured some of the top metal bands in the Essex area.

This Saturday, Pete Way's Waysted hit the stage at The Twist. The legendary UFO bassist and ultimate rock n roller is guaranteed to put on a fantastic show. Featuring original vocalist Fin (the guy who sang the theme to The Office!) and Chris George on guitar, who some of you might know from a previous trip to Colchester as part of the Marshall Amps showcase.
Support comes from the formidable Pig Iron (Down meets Deep Purple! www. myspace. com/soundsofcaligula ) and tickets are still available at just £8.
This will be one of the gigs of the year. Don't miss out.
